My name is Nicole and I am the creator of Melanin Made It LLC.

 

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Illinois.

I originally created this brand in early to mid 2020 admist the COVID-19 pandemic. I spent a lot of time on social media, because well… we couldn’t go anywhere lol and from there I soon gained an interest in crafting. I did some research, bought some tools and began crafting as a hobby. I knew that I always wanted to have a business of my own but never knew what it would consist of. I then created my brand, under the former name, "Illest Cutz". After some careful consideration, I became more intentional and serious about my business and decided to revamp my brand, thus creating Melanin Made It LLC.

Melanin Made it is a double-entendre meaning that this name could be understood 2 ways:

​

1. Whatever item you purchase from me, melanin literally made it. I am a black woman full of melanin who handcrafted and made that item.

2. I am a black woman, full of melanin, who is living her ancestors' wildest dreams. Speaking personally as the creator, I have a masters degree, 2 bachelors degrees and have also started my own business. I’ve made it. Of course there’s more that I want to do but I’ve made it. Melanin Made It 🤎​
